Water points to God

leave a comment »

Here’s a law of physics: when something turns from a liquid into a solid, it increases in density, as the particles huddle closer together.

But God made the law, so knows what exceptions would work. Water’s pretty important, and if the solid was denser than the liquid then the icebergs would sink, causing the whole planet to freeze…so God made that work the other way round.

Now I’m sure there’s a good reason for this, but I searched around and for the life of me couldn’t find one…if you have the answer please let me know! But is it not a remarkable coincidence that what scientists have called the ‘key to life’ can only be that if it breaks one of the basic laws of matter? And that it just so happens that it does?

Britain ‘complicit in mistreatment and possible torture’ says UN

leave a comment »

United Nations human rights investigators have concluded that the British government has been complicit in the mistreatment and possible torture of several of its own citizens during the “war on terror”.

In a report published today that will make difficult reading for ministers who repeatedly denied the UK’s involvement in torture, UN officials have indicated that there is clear evidence of the UK’s role in the secret detention overseas of several British Muslims.

Scientists exaggerated impact of climate change, says Government’s chief adviser

leave a comment »

Scientists have exaggerated the impact of climate change and need to be more honest about how difficult it is to predict, the Government’s chief scientific adviser said today.

Professor John Beddington added that experts should be less hostile to sceptics who question man-made global warming.

And he condemned those who refuse to publish full report data, adding that public confidence in climate science would be boosted by greater honesty about its uncertainties.

Professor Beddington was speaking in the wake of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) admission that it had made a mistake by claiming that Himalayan glaciers could melt away by 2035.

No solidarity in the Eurozone

Bundesbank President says EU assistance for Greece would be politically impossible.

The Telegraph reports that Axel Weber, President of the German Bundesbank and a member of the ECB Executive Board, has said that any EU aid for Greece in response to its economic problems would be counterproductive. He told the German Boersen Zeitung financial paper, “Politically, it would not be possible to tell voters that one country is being helped out so that it can avoid the painful savings that other countries have made”. He added that such a bail-out “is not provided for and, as a general rule, I think such aid, whether it is conditional, or – even worse – unconditional, is counterproductive”.

Airline passengers have ‘no right’ to refuse naked body scanners

leave a comment »

Ministers ignore human rights advice and rule out option of pat-down search when scanner goes on trial at Heathrow next week.

Airline passengers will have no right to refuse to go through a full-body search scanner when the devices are introduced at Heathrow airport next week, ministers have confirmed.

The option of having a full-body pat-down search instead, offered to passengers at US airports, will not be available despite warnings from the government’s Equality and Human Rights Commission that the scanners, which reveal naked bodies, breach privacy rules under the Human Rights Act.

Obama Administration Orders World Bank To Keep Third World In Poverty

leave a comment »

Under the provably fraudulent and completely corrupted justification of fighting global warming, the Obama administration has ordered the World Bank to keep “developing” countries underdeveloped by blocking them from building coal-fired power plants, ensuring that poorer countries remain in poverty as a result of energy demands not being met.
